HOT AIR BALLOON GALA PROJECT
“Thanks for the Adventure!”
SUPPLIES NEEDED
1.
Appropriate Grade Level Balloon Copies (all
samples are made on the same size but the students projects may be smaller of
bigger)
2.
Markers (ONLY TAKE A CLASSROOM SET OF MARKERS)
3.
Scissors (In the classroom, kindergarten through
2nd grade volunteers please cut out)
KINDERGARTEN
1.
Color Balloon with Markers
2.
Have students choose two
colors and color the balloons alternating two colors.
3.
Remind students that these are being used to
decorate the school for the art gala and they will not get their balloons
back.
4.
Have volunteers cut them out and put them in the
Art Room
1st GRADE
1.
Ask teachers if students have markers or if you
need to bring them (we did not have enough markers for all students to do this
project at the same time. So we are
hoping that some of the younger grades have markers in their classrooms.)
2.
Color Balloon with Markers
3.
Have students choose three

2nd GRADE

Have students color the balloon with a HORIZONTAL PATTERN, make sure
they understand this before you let them start.
4.
Remind students that these are being used to
decorate the school for the art gala and they will not get their balloons
back.
5.
Have volunteers cut them out and put them in the
Art Room (If you feel that the students are capable of cutting the balloon out
them allow them to do so)
3rd GRADE
1.
Ask teachers if students have markers or if you
need to bring them (we did not have enough markers for all students to do this
project at the same time. So we are
hoping that some of the younger grades have markers in their classrooms.

Have students color the balloon using any colors
but they must include a PATTERN in
the balloon they are coloring. (See Samples)
4.
Remind
students that these are being used to decorate the school for the art gala and
they will not get their balloons back.
But they can have a fun time looking for their balloon in the bigger
display.

Have student cut them the balloons out.

Volunteers please put them in the Art Room
4th GRADE
1.

the balloon anyway they want.

colors for 5th & 6th grades but the art program can
